The controversy involving renowned soccer player Kurt Zouma has taken another unique turn after some of the biggest names in the sport came forward to show their support.
Just yesterday, the French player was called out for animal abuse after starling videos showcased him kicking a tiny kitten, followed by him throwing his designer shoes right at his face. And just in case that wasn’t horrifying enough, he was also seen slapping the cat from a little child’s arms.
While the star tried his best to amuse his fans by putting up the clips on social media, it was quite evident how s0 many were terrified and outraged at his behavior.
In the end, the French national player was forced with no decision but to apologize and boldly claim that what he did was only in fun and games, adding how every member of his family respects animals to the core.
He also reassured his fans, followers, and critics that no animals were hurt in the process and they were as healthy as can be.
But despite his reassurance, many on Twitter were quick to pass judgments, calling animal rights activists to have all of his pets confiscated immediately for the type of wrongdoing shown on screen.
After facing severe backlash in the eyes of the media, his fellow team mater Michail Antonio is now getting involved and speaking on his behalf, trying his best to defend the player as much as he can.
The West Ham superstar striker questioned why there were any calls for the player to be sacked from the squad over something like this. He also spoke about how what was shown was not equivalent to racism and for that reason, people should just let it go.
As the controversy continues, another major sponsor has opted to end a deal with the player amid the shocking and fiery backlash regarding the matter.
