The CEO of the World Cup in Qatar has been making a series of controversial statements from day one but you’ll be amazed to learn how his recent statement has really outdone them all.
When asked during a recent press conference with journalists what his take was on a migrant worker’s death in the Philippines, he was blunt enough to mention that death was a natural part of life.
He refused to go any further and simply offered his condolences on the matter to his family, sparking outrage around the world.
Instead, he opted to continue with his shocking statements by adding, ‘death is natural, whether it’s at work or if it’s in your sleep’- he revealed.
As one can probably imagine, the news did not go down well with those who are boycotting the nation and the entire FIFA World Cup as they feel the country has gone one step too far. The news comes after a shocking video went on air featuring migrant workers being treated under some of the most awful conditions.
People felt the nation is doing absolutely nothing to intervene and curb the rise in such incidents. And that really impacted the World Cup with the FIFA President being forced to step and intervene as things were getting out of hand quickly.
The CEO named Nasser Al Khater mentioned how the incident had reportedly taken place at one of their training bases in Saudi Arabia but that’s about all the information that was made public on the matter.
For now, Qatar has launched an investigation regarding work safety on the matter as they’ve been left without any option to do so but this.
