A 22-year-old care home worker has reportedly died after taking her own life in Aryshire.
According to tragic reports from local media outlets, the young victim was identified as Taylor Watterson who used to work at a care home during the peak season of the pandemic. Therefore, during that time, so many members used to die and she was in charge of giving the dead bodies a final wash before they were handed out to loved ones for their final rituals.
Taylor used to claim that she had lost count of the number of dead people that she had washed and it just was an incredibly depressing feeling that really began to take a toll on her general mental wellbeing.
She tried to seek medical help and counseling guidance from a regular GP but that didn’t work and in the end, she let it get the best of her.
Now, the young woman’s family has begun a fundraiser so they could help get more support for bereaved families while they also plan on raising more awareness on mental health issues and how strongly they can affect an individual.
Taylor was reported to have begun working in the care home industry when she was just 17 years old. And then she ended her life last year in December, at the age of 22.
Today, her parents are speaking out about their daughter and how she really had problems with her mental health after seeing all the people die in front of her eyes. “It just all had to do with her mental health”- they mentioned during an interview with the Daily Record recently.
But her family did reiterate that yes, her work did make her mental health worse but she was already struggling from it before she entered the job.
