A woman nearly lost her life in a random attack after a person hurled a sharp spear at her windshield while she was driving around in her car.
36-year-old Shavone Canales of San Antonio, Texas, was driving around on Sunday night when a five-foot spear came crashing through her front window and became lodged just inches from the driver’s seat.
“I heard an explosion, and I ducked down, and when I looked up, a whole spear was there,” Canales told San Antonio Express-News.
“It was a pretty scary event. I was not expecting that.”
The victim of the “random attack” also shared a clip, which has since gone viral on TikTok, in which she showed the aftermath and the damage done to the car by the spear.
As of this writing, the police are looking into the horrific incident. No suspects have yet been identified.
“So yeah, guys I almost died. Someone threw a spear through my car tonight, and I just thought I’d show y’all how bad it is. It was not road rage or anything. This was unprovoked and just completely random,” Canales said in one of her viral clips.
She added: “I was going 40, 45 miles per hour. Their precision on that was pretty insane.”
In another clip, the victim of the horrific attack showed an officer struggling to remove the lodged weapon from the car.
“That is crazy. You could have died,” the officer told Canales.
While the 36-year-old managed to survive the ordeal unscathed, she will now have to fork out roughly $500 to have her windshield replaced. Should the spear end up a few inches further in her direction, however, she could have lost her life in an instant.
“I just hope somebody comes forward. If it wasn’t me, it would have been somebody else. I am just hoping now that it’s getting enough attention that they won’t attempt this again,” Canales said as the hunt for the suspect continues.
