A woman was decapitated by her own son after he reportedly violated a no-contact order.
29-year-old Collin Boldizsar faces second-degree murder charges for brutally killing his mother Laurie Collins, 70, at her home in Shoreline, Washington.
Police received a report after a concerned neighbor saw the woman’s vehicle still parked outside her house when she should already be at work.
The worried neighbor then heard loud thumps and screaming from Collins’ home around 2 am. When police arrived to conduct a welfare check around 9 am, Boldizsar already closed and locked the door.
According to arrest documents King5 News reported, police asked Boldizsar about the screams and he said that he and his mother were ‘arguing.’
When police couldn’t reach the 70-year-old woman by phone, they forced entry in the property and found Collins’ decapitated body in the bedroom.
According to reports, the mother had filed a no-contact order against Boldizsar in May. Officers who arrived at the home knew about the order.
The son is currently being held on $2 million bond for the brutal murder of his mother.
Senior deputy prosecuting attorney Terry Carlstrom called the heinous crime an ‘extraordinary, violent offense,’ as he described Boldizsar as a ‘significant threat to the community.’
Collins, who was a budget manager in the School of Theology at Seattle Pacific University, was remembered as a ‘treasured colleague’ by peers, faculty, and students.
“The university is deeply saddened by the death of our longtime colleague,” said Tracy Norlen, Seattle Pacific University’s Public Information Officer.
“She was a loyal and dedicated assistant for many departments, and a faithful colleague whose devotion to Christ was evident through her work. She will be profoundly missed by the SPU community,” she added.
