A woman was killed on her way to work after getting shot by a fuming driver in a senseless case of road rage.
37-year-old Paola Nunez Linares and husband Zane Jones were driving through Texas near Fort Worth when they got into an altercation with another driver.
According to the reports, Jones flipped off the other driver after the latter nearly crashed into them while driving “aggressively.”
After getting flipped off, the unidentified driver pulled out a gun and sprayed the couple’s vehicle with bullets, striking the woman in the back of her head in the process.
“And I flipped them off,” Jones said as he explained that the killer driver almost crashed into their minivan while driving erratically.
“She [Paola] always told me not to flip people off because you never know.”
Pleading for justice for his wife’s death, Jones continued: “I need him caught, I need him prosecuted, I need him in prison. I need him to know he didn’t just fire a gun into a car. He killed someone who’s not like anyone… I want him to rot.”
As of this writing, the police have yet to identify a suspect. Jones’ hands were tested for gun residue after the incident and he was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Speaking to DailyMail.com, Jones also revealed that he didn’t see the shooter’s face though he suspects it was a male.
“I assume it’s a male, and that’s what I told the police – They asked me why and I said because he was a shooter. I just assume it’s a male, but didn’t see his face. It was already dark outside. We work night shifts,” he said.
“He killed someone who fought so hard to be here, who loved my kids, that loved me, someone who’s building a life and a career for herself. Someone who had nothing to do with anything. Someone who was a passenger of the person he was mad at.”
As of this writing, the shocking road rage remains under investigation. The police have urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact Detective C. Jackson at 817-788-7179.
