A 21-year-old woman was shot and killed in a bar and restaurant in Philadelphia after a man got furious over an occupied pool table.
Jailene Holton was standing in the back of Philly Bar and Restaurant with other customers when she was killed by a stray bullet.
Her grieving family said that she rarely went out and was just dragged by her friends for a night out around the town.
According to reports, the group stopped at a Topgolf location before they headed to the bar, which hosts a pool tournament every Tuesday.
The shooter arrived with two friends and got upset that other players were using the table, Fox 29 reported.
After getting kicked out by the bouncer at around 11:30 pm, the man fired 15 shots from the parking lot before fleeing in their pickup truck.
10 bullets hit the outside of the building but five went through the glass windows. One of those struck Holton, who was standing with other customers.
Holton was the only person hit by the bullet. Another person was left injured from the broken glass.
The 21-year-old was found ‘unresponsive’ and ‘suffering from a gunshot wound to the head,’ said Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.
Holton was rushed to a hospital where doctors performed an emergency surgery but she died only hours later, the Daily Beast reported.
Her grieving mother told Fox 29 that the most difficult part was that Holton ‘never goes out.’
Speaking to CBS Philadelphia, Holton’s uncle James said: “I’m on my way home from work and I get the call and I’m like: ‘What do you mean she’s been shot?’ She was a good kid. She worked and was home a lot. She wasn’t a street person and didn’t go out often. She stood to herself.”
“When are people going to get fed up with this reckless shooting in this city?” he asked.
“How many children have to die for people to say enough is enough?”
A GoFundMe has been setup for Holton’s family to help cover funeral costs.
