A 51-year-old woman who met a man online flew 3,000 miles to Peru only to be brutally killed and had her organs harvested.
Blanca Arellano flew from Mexico City to Lima to meet Juan Pablo Jesus Villafuerte Pinto, 37, a human medicine biotechnology student.
According to reports, they met on a gaming app and had been in an online relationship for months before Arellano decided to pay him a visit.
But after spending one week with Villafuerte, Arellano disappeared and her family could no longer reach her.
Her family became concerned after not hearing from her for days. Her niece, Karla Arellano, posted on Twitter to ask for help in locating her aunt.
“I never thought I would be in this situation, today I ask for support and dissemination to locate one of the most loved and important people in my life. My aunt Blanca Olivia Arellano Gutiérrez disappeared on Monday, November 7 in Peru, she is of Mexican origin, we fear for her life,” she wrote.
Karla also shared how she had contacted Villafuerte and asked him if he had seen her. But the 37-year-old man claimed that her aunt got bored of him and returned to Mexico.
But only days later, Arellano’s family received devastating news.
Authorities found a faceless head of a woman on the beach near Villafuerte’s home. And only hours later, they discovered a severed finger with a silver ring on it.
The following day, authorities found a torso without organs in a canal that flows into the sea.
The victim’s face had also been removed by someone who has experience with surgical instruments, forensic experts said.
Traces of Arellano’s blood had been found throughout Villafuerte’s home. He reportedly shared videos of the victim’s organs to TikTok days after she vanished.
Villafuerte now remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
