A grieving husband has opened up about his heartache after his wife died at the age of just 40.
40-year-old Lauren Watts left behind her husband, Drew Duncan, and their four children, Olivia, Will, Jude, and Jimmy, as she passed away without a warning on Tuesday morning.
According to the reports, the parents were preparing for their son’s first day of preschool when Lauren collapsed suddenly.
Since her passing, the father-of-four penned a touching open letter in which he dubbed his late wife the “heart of the family” and praised her for working hard to make their dreams come true.
“You were the heart of our family, and kept it beating with your love. Unfortunately, I think you must have used up all of your own beats on everyone else,” Duncan expressed.
“You kept fighting for the best for all of us when crap cards kept getting dealt our way. Your passion was on show in everything you did. You always put everyone before yourself. You worked harder than anyone should have to to make our family, your career and our life together.
“We had more challenges than most, and met them head on together… Love you, Baby. For ever and ever.”
Since the tragic news, a family friend also set up a GoFundMe page to help the struggling family financially during this ordeal.
“On 24th January, Lauren Watts was taken far too soon at the young age of 40. Lauren was full of life and love. Even through the difficulties life threw at her, she never stopped smiling and laughing,” Jacqueline Lawson wrote.
“Her caring spirit was felt by all who knew her. Drew and Lauren spent a lifetime together and built a wonderful family. They stood together facing everything the world could throw at them.
“Drew not only lost his partner, but their 4 young children, Olivia, Will, Jimmy, and Jude, lost their wonderful mother.”
Our thoughts remain with Lauren’s family and friends during this challenging time.
