A woman in her 60s was killed after dogs that were kept inside the home got out of control and attacked her.
After the event on Monday in Liverpool, the victim’s death was confirmed by medical personnel at the site. It is believed that at least two dogs were engaged in the attack.
There have also been reports of people hearing the barking of multiple dogs coming from within a police cordon. Investigators from the forensics division are now on the site and are looking into a property located on St. Brigids Crescent.
It is believed that the victim’s next of kin had been informed of the situation. The police, the fire department, and the ambulance service all responded to the scene as part of a massive emergency reaction.
According to a statement made by one woman to the Liverpool Echo, “It’s just so horrific. You simply cannot fathom how much anguish the family is experiencing at this time. They are going to be completely broken.”
Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said in a statement, “We understand the shock that this incident will cause in the local community and beyond. Our officers are at the scene carrying out further inquiries so if you have any information please let us know.”
