A woman tragically died in a car crash just hours after being forced to bury her husband who died of cancer.
42-year-old Sara Nowak from Wisconsin died in a single-vehicle crash on Saturday night while driving along State Highway 106 in Palmyra.
According to the preliminary investigation, the woman lost control of her vehicle before plowing into a ditch causing her car to overturn and kill her as well as another occupant in the car.
The horror car crash came just hours after Nowak attended the funeral of her husband, Louis, who died from cancer on March 19.
“I don’t think she could be without him. So, she is with him,” Patricia Cartwright, Sara’s mother, told CBS 58. “We want everyone to remember her as being full of life.”
Speaking out was also Sara’s father, Randal Cartwright, who told the reporters that the family was left shattered by the news.
“It’s really hard because you get done and then five and half hours later, you get a call saying that your daughter was in an accident,” he said.
The grieving parents also explained how Sara took care of her husband for months after his harrowing diagnosis. As Randal insisted, his daughter would help “whenever there was something that somebody needed.”
Sara and Louis were married for six years and had six children together.
After the mother’s sudden death, a family friend, Cindy Krey, launched a GoFundMe page to help the family with living expenses and funeral costs.
“They have 6 children that could really benefit with the cost of the funeral and household expenses. If you could please help even if it’s only a couple extra dollars you could spare,” the page reads.
“The children and the families have a lot of healing to do as they also lost their grandfather a couple weeks ago. They need all the help they can get during this horrific time. Thank you and please pray for this family.”
Our thoughts remain with Sara and Louis’ children and the rest of the family during this challenging time.
