The 22-year-old woman who was known as the ‘Little Devil’ after she lured four teens to a local park where MS-13 gang members murdered them with machetes said she ‘was really happy’ with what she did.
Leniz Escobar has been accused of luring the teenagers after lying to the gang, saying the victims had ‘mocked’ the gangers, said prosecutor Justina Geraci during the trial.
The conversation obtained by the New York Post was released before the jury started their deliberations.
According to reports, Escobar tells her boyfriend Jeffrey Amador that she ‘f***ed up* as one of the five teenagers – Elmder Alexander Arteaga Ruiz – managed to escape.
Amador asked angrily: “So, why the f–k do you have to get involved in that s–t?’ What you’d get out of all this?”
Escobar then replied: “Nothing. I was gonna be happy. Because I was really happy. I’m telling you straight out, I was happy for this to happen.”
“Yeah,” her boyfriend said. “I know that you get excited with stuff like that, with crazy stuff, you know?”
Escobar then responded: “Yeah. I was happy for that to happen.”
This comes after prosecutor Geraci detailed the joy Escobar seemed to take in the tragic deaths of Michael Lopez, 20, Jorge Tigre, 18, Justin Llivicura, 16, and Jefferson Villalobos, 18.
‘You heard [MS-13 gang member] David Gaitan-Rivera’s testimony,” Geraci said to the jury. “He told you how one of the victims had reached for (Escobar) before he was killed and his blood had gotten all over her shirt. He told you how she licked her lips.”
Keyli Gomez, Escobar’s friend, testified earlier in the week and said that she and Escobar ‘crouched down by the victims and watched as they were killed. Not screaming or crying while the victims were macheted to death.’
Geraci also noted that Escobar smiled as 20-year-old Lopez was hacked to death.
