Shocking reports coming in from Poland have gone on to reveal how a 37-year-old pregnant woman was reportedly forced to carry her dead fetus inside her womb for a week, after which she passed away tragically.
Furious activists in the Polish nation are now accusing the state government of murder after the horrifyingly tragic incident has come to light.
The victim was identified as 37-year-old Agnieszka who is a mother of three. She was reportedly pregnant with twin babies but the doctors present at the hospital where she was being treated in the south of Poland refused to conduct an abortion after it was revealed that she had lost one of her babies.
The woman was in her first trimester at that time and needed an abortion on an urgent basis but due to the new set of abortion laws being introduced in the nation, doctors were helpless and just couldn’t perform the procedure.
For this reason, the helpless mother carried her dead fetus inside for more than seven days, as revealed by her loved ones in a public statement.
The mother arrived at the hospital on the 21 of December with symptoms of severe abdominal pain and complains of nausea and vomiting. After undergoing a series of routine examinations and tests, doctors revealed the tragic news to her.
But the doctors also revealed how they could not remove the dead fetus as the new laws would penalize the medical staff who performed the procedure or ordered it in the first place. However, the law also states that in such a condition, the patient would not be held responsible as all blame would be placed on the doctors involved.
The woman helplessly carried her dead fetus for seven days until her other baby’s heartbeat stopped and that’s when doctors waited for a further two-day time period. By this time, the woman’s health further went down and she passed away from sepsis.
At the moment, investigations into the tragedy continue as the hospital is yet to reveal the mother’s real cause of death.
