A three-week-old baby was reportedly suffocated to death after his mother carried him in a sling that was closely pressed against her body.
The mother had no idea that holding him in that position would cause his little body to be pressurized to such an existing that it crushed him and caused him to die while in his mom’s arms.
The child was a newborn and his family was just getting used to his little hands and feet. But little did they realize that their celebrations would come to such an abrupt end.
The coroner’s office announced the cause of death and it just left the mother terrified that a fabric sling that was designed to carry a newborn would end up killing him in the end.
The little victim was identified as Harvey McGlinn. He died in the Central Coast and now, sources claim other parents are being made aware of the fact that such tragedies can be avoided if the right precautions are taken when holding your child.
The acronym TICKS is being outlined to make sure such incidents aren’t repeated.
The mother named Tattika Dunn says she never thought she could be the one responsible for her baby’s death. And it’s going to take her a really long time to accept this nature of this tragedy.
It was reported how the staff had tried their level best to perform CPR and bring the child back to life but it was in vain. He just couldn’t be revived.
The coroner’s office says that the child’s neck position and the way it lay with his chin on his chest compromised his airway. And that’s what led to the tragedy in the first place.
