A father has reportedly stabbed and killed a group of burglars who entered inside a home and conducted a full-on raid.
Reports from local media outlets identified the father as Karl Townsend who is believed to have seen the thieves carry out their master plan of action through his ring doorbell.
The 32-year-old dad and his half-brother put on a brave face and became armed with sharp knives so that they could successfully get a hold of their targets.
The incident is believed to have taken place in Halewood, Merseyside last year.
“He informed the court about how he yelled and shouted at the burglars and asked them to leave immediately but then ended up killing them all with the help of his frends|- claimed authorities.
Now, both men are standing trial after being accused of carrying out murder and possessing sharp weapons.
Their trial began at Liverpool’s crown court today as the men gave detailed accounts of what really went on that day and how they were able to detect the thieves with the help of their ring doorbell technology.
“We shouted at them to leave my home immediately. It was nothing less than a clear warning to get out”- the father mentioned.
And that’s when the duo decided the time had come and they decided to take the law into their own hands and brutally stabbed the thieves.
The injuries on one of them were so severe that his face and eyes were covered in wounds. Similarly, there were even foreign objects in the form of a broken blade found inside the burglar’s head.
The prosecutors in the courtroom have argued. They claim the killing was done with malicious intent and not in fear of being harmed or killed.
“It was a brutal and ruthless killing”- the prosecutors concluded.
