The parents of a young boy who was found dead inside a washing machine have now been arrested.
According to reports from local media outlets, the 7-year-old child was killed by his own parents and they opted to dump his remains in the washing machine.
The suspects were identified as 42-year-old Jermaine Thomas and 35-year-old Tiffany Thomas. They were stated to be the step-parents for this young child. They were given his custody to look after him but they succeeded in doing just the opposite.
They were both reportedly charged with injury to a child and capital murder, sources explained.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced how a serious and extensive investigation had taken place. And that’s what led them to believe that the child had died at the hands of the suspects.
Other reports shed light on how the parents reportedly adopted Troy when he was a foster child. This was around 2019. But they continued to bash him to his last breath.
The suspects are currently booked in the Harris County Jail as noted by the Sheriff’s department.
The bail set out for them both is $150,000 and the court date is going to be scheduled for Thursday as confirmed by the recent booking report.
For now, it’s not clear if the suspects have any lawyers that would be representing them and those who can comment on the couple’s behalf.
The heartbreaking autopsy of the child showed how he had suffered from new and old injuries. On that note, the authorities had confirmed that his death happened to be a homicide and these evil parents were involved.
