The Walmart mass shooter’s neighbor has spoken out and recalled the man as an “odd” person who “kept to himself” and was always alone.
On Tuesday, one of the managers at a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia, opened fire on his co-workers and shot dead six people in the process.
The gunman, who shot himself after killing six people and injuring several more, has since been identified as 31-year-old Andre Bing.
Identified were also five of his victims including 22-year-old Tyneka Johnson, 38-year-old Brian Pendleton, 43-year-old Lorenzo Gamble, 52-year-old Kellie Pyle, and 70-year-old Randy Belvins. The identity of the sixth victim, a 16-year-old male, remains a mystery.
Since the tragic event in Chesapeake, one of the neighbors of Bing spoke to the reporters and expressed her shock over the shooting and the number of victims.
“I am shocked, especially when I saw the amount of people that were dead. I was even more shocked when I found out it was him,” the neighbor told DailyMail.com after the FBI raided the gunman’s house.
“I only realized when I saw the FBI here this morning. My daughter saw them get here last night with the battering ram but I didn’t hear anything. He kept himself to himself, he was always alone. No one else lived in that house.”
As the lady added, she tried talking to Bing in the past but he never seemed interested in niceties.
“I would see him mowing his lawn and things but he would never talk. He was odd. I tried to talk to him but he just wasn’t interested at all,” she explained.
“I saw him last night as he left for work, I know he worked at Walmart.”
The shocked neighbor further said she was grateful she didn’t speak to Bing when she saw him drive off on Tuesday.
She also admitted “nothing seemed different” and said she had never seen him with a gun.
