Five of the six victims who were killed during a mass shooting at a Walmart store in Virginia have been identified hours after the store manager who opened fire was named.
The City of Chesapeake identified five of the victims as Randall Blevins, Lorenzo Gamble, Tyneka Johnson, Kellie Pyle, and Brian Pendleton.
The sixth victim was a 16-year-old boy but his photo and name were withheld because of his age.
Heartbreaking tributes to the victims from grieving loved ones started to surface.
The bereaved mother of Lorenzo Gamble, 43, took to Facebook and wrote: “My quiet baby Lorenzo is gone. He worked there for 15 years, he was going transfer to Grassfield. Now his sons is loss without him.”
Kellie Pyle’s boyfriend also posted a tribute to his partner.
“Until we see each other again my angel,” the caption read.
Aside from the six victims who were killed, four more people were hospitalized with injuries.
The city identified the gunman as Andre Bing, who had been working at the company since 2010.
Police said that the gunman had been “armed with one handgun and had multiple magazines on his person.”
There were around 50 people inside the store when Bing opened fire in the breakroom at the back, shooting ten people before killing himself.
Police searched his body and found a list of names of his colleagues he wanted to target, local Virginia outlet WAVY reported.
Virginia state Senator Louise Lucas released a statement on the incident.
“I am absolutely heartbroken that America’s latest mass shooting took place in a Walmart in my district in Chesapeake, Virginia tonight.
“I will not rest until we find the solutions to end this gun violence epidemic in our country that has taken so many lives.”
