Actor Chris Hemsworth is one man that certainly needs no introduction but recently, the celeb was seen making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Think along the lines of being slammed for showing extreme disrespect while launching a mega television series of your own.
Yes, while fans may have waited days for the series’ release, they were appalled at how the actor didn’t think twice before carrying out filming at a very sacred Aboriginal site located in Australia.
The incident has undoubtedly sparked huge controversy as many just couldn’t come to terms with what was taking place. The show which is titled Limitless has some very interesting scenes which have been filmed in that particular region that people called sacred and off limits.
The celeb can be seen dressed in traditional attire and having a blast but that is not being taken too well by those who have ancestors in this part of the world.
And just in case that was not dramatic enough, the ones who actually own this destination, the Thunggutti elders, claim they were never even asked or requested for permission despite it being their region.
The crew was seen carrying out filming at this holy location in New South Wales. The scene depicted a very traditional and cultural ceremony without any form of prior consent.
This particular series is a major production and is a part of the National Geographic Production house. So as you can imagine, the stakes are high, and seeing this type of criticism arise before the start of anything is definitely not a good sign.
Chris Hemsworth wears a red colored lap-lap while his body is painted using white ochre. So many people did not like how the team failed to consult the community as a whole. And the elders feel there is no form of disrespect that’s greater than this.
