Four Las Vegas entertainers are among the eight people stabbed during a knife rampage outside a casino on Thursday morning.
According to reports, the showgirls were outside the Wynn greeting visitors when a man, who had a kitchen knife, told them he was a chef and wanted to take a picture with them.
But when the women refused, the knifeman attacked them.
Two people died while three others are still in critical condition. The other three are now in a stable condition.
Captain Dori Koren of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said that a total of eight people were attacked.
At least one of the victims was taken to University Medical Center, where loved ones were seen crying.
Police rushed to the Venetian resort and the suspect was arrested with blood covering his sleeves.
Ten officers were outside of Wynn casino, potentially searching for a weapon.
The incident happened between Wynn and the Resorts World Casino. Other casinos in the area closed their entrances in the wake of the horrific attack.
“At approximately 11.42am, the LVMPD received a report of a stabbing with multiple victims in front of a casino in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard,” Las Vegas police said.
“Other victims are being transported to area hospitals with unknown extent of injuries.”
“The suspect has been taken into custody,” police continued. “This is an ongoing investigation. There are road closures in the area. Citizens are advised to avoid the area.”
Witness Maxime Wallace, a tourist from Montreal, said: “A man just started stabbing and slashing. Everything happened so fast it was hard to see.”
Speaking to 13 Action News, Pierre Fandrich said that he thought he heard showgirls laughing but they were actually screaming.
