Devastating Photographs Reveal Innocent Ukrainian Children Injured And Killed In Russian Invasion


A heartbreaking photo shows Ukrainian kids who have been injured during the Russian attack.

A statement issued by Ukraine’s interior ministry said that 352 Ukrainians, including 16 children, have lost their lives in Russia’s invasion. The statement also said 1,684 people had been injured in the Russian attacks.

The injured included 116 children. It is feared that the number of dead and injured may increase in the coming time. However, it is not known how many Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in the Russian attacks.

Russia claims is the exact opposite saying that it is only targeting Ukrainian military facilities. Russia has claimed that whatever missile attacks have been carried out by its side have not caused any harm to Ukrainian citizens.

Gut-wrenching photos on the Ukrainian city of Mariupol in the Donetsk region were shot by paramedic Oleksandr Konovalov. It shows him performing CPR on a small girl brought to a city hospital after she was injured during a Russian attack on civilians. Next to her, is an adult covered in blood who crouches down in pain.

According to the Kyiv Independent, Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko said that the little girl has tragically become one of the 16 children that have been killed in the war.

Another photo shows some survivors taking shelter in Mariupol to avoid the street fighting and the clashes happening in the city. A woman can be seen holding her child and pet dog in her hands as they hide.

There were also reports from Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, calling for an investigation following stories that Russia launched an attack on a kindergarten and an orphanage in Okhtyrka, a small city in Ukraine’s Sumy province.

He said in a statement on Twitter: “Today’s Russian attacks on a kindergarten and an orphanage are war crimes and violations of the Rome Statute. Together with the General Prosecutor’s Office, we are collecting this and other facts, which we will immediately send to the Hague.”

Minister Lyashko called the Russian troops “terrorists” for targeting civilians, and President Zelensky said the Russians should be tried for committing international war crimes.

Fighting continued across Ukraine over the weekend and Russian President Putin ordered his country’s nuclear-arms system to be put on high alert Sunday. Some of the heaviest fightings happened in the city of Kharkiv, where local Ukrainian officials declared victory Sunday.

The war between Russia and Ukraine is still going on and for 5 days, Russia has been launching missiles on Ukraine continuously. Several cities, including Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, were damaged in Russia’s attacks. There has also been a lot of loss of life and property.

Russia has acknowledged on Sunday, for the first time, that its soldiers have been killed in the attack on Ukraine. Major General Igor Konashenkov, a spokesman for Russia’s defense ministry, said on Sunday: “Some of our soldiers have lost their lives and some have been wounded.”

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message posted on Twitter: “There’s a lot of fake information online that I called on our army to lay down arms and that there’s evacuation. I’m here. We won’t lay down our arms. We will defend our state.”
