Ukraine has reportedly begun distributing potassium iodide pills to evacuation centers in preparation for a potential nuclear attack.
Also known as anti-radiation pills, potassium iodide medication can help block harmful absorption of radioactive iodine in the thyroid gland and has long been used as an emergency treatment for exposure to radioactive iodine.
The pills were allegedly handed out in masses in the capital of Kyiv where citizens are bracing for a potential nuclear attack after Putin deployed Russia’s nuclear train and transported nuclear weapons and equipment to the frontline.
Putin’s renewed threats of nuclear warfare come as the Russian president once again suffered huge losses in Ukraine where he forcefully annexed four territories and vowed to defend them with all means necessary.
As Ukrainian authorities announced, pills will be made available to residents of areas affected by nuclear radiation in case of an attack.
The news comes after NATO warned allies about Putin’s alleged plans to demonstrate his readiness to use nukes by firing them near Ukraine’s border as a warning.
Meanwhile, Russia’s nuclear military train was spotted on the move while transporting nuclear-arms division equipment to the frontline.
A leaked NATO warning also suggested that Belgorod – a 600-foot submarine that carries the Poseidon drone – left its base in the Arctic Circle as tensions between Russia and the West continue to grow.
The Poseidon drone is a 79-foot nuke that can travel any distance on the planet while reaching a maximum speed of up to 125 mph. The missile is reportedly capable of causing a 1,640-foot radioactive tsunami that could annihilate any coastal region.
