Another powerful earthquake has struck Turkey as per reports from local media outlets.
Sources revealed that the earthquake that arose today was 5.5 in magnitude but thankfully, there are no reports of any major devastation that took place.
Turkey was rocked by a massive explosion again for the third time. The incident has caused widespread fear among locals as it reminds them of the horror that ensued nearly three weeks back.
The country continues to face aftershocks as it mourns the loss of more than 50,000 deaths while having trouble handling a million people that were left homeless due to the tragedy.
This earthquake was seen taking a blow to the country’s central region. It comes just two days after several smaller earthquakes struck the border that the nation shares with Syria.
Sources revealed that it was around 10:30 am when the disaster struck with authorities claiming it to be 10 kilometers deep.
The eruption reportedly took place 40 kilometers south of a city called Aksaray and 18 kilometers northeast of Emirgazi.
This was closely followed up by reports from India Today that described in detail more about the devastation that ensued in the Nigde province, which is about 230 miles away from Gaziantep.
Both Turkey and Syria are struggling with their recovery and relief operations have a series of massive disasters struck both nations this month. And while so far no human loss was reported from today’s earthquake, shocking images did reveal the powerful strength of the calamity.
Ministers from the area claim that the country’s infrastructure is shattered and these earthquakes are making rehabilitation an even more difficult process to deal with.
