Tributes have begun pouring in for Ellen’s DJ Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss after he took his own life at the age of 40.
The father-of-three was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a hotel just 15 minutes away from his family home on Tuesday, just days after he was seen dancing and singing with his wife and kids in front of a Christmas tree.
Since the news of the DJ’s death broke, thousands of people including high-profile celebrities shared tributes to the kind and generous man.
In a heartbreaking statement to People, Stephen’s wife, Allison, said her husband was the best father and the backbone of their family.
“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him,” she expressed.
“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory.”
Meanwhile, Ellen DeGeneres wrote: “I’m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”
Joining in paying Stephen a tribute were also Ellen child stars and cousins Sophia Grace Brownlee and Rosie McClelland.
“Thank you for making everything so fun for us! Me and Sophia were so lucky to have worked with you, sending all the love to your family, children and friends, love Rosie and Family,” Rosie said.
“My condolences to your family and loved ones. Thank you for always making the show so fun for me and Rosie, you will never be forgotten rest easy,” Sophia added while sharing photos showing the cousins posing for photos with Stephen.
Speaking out was also Jennifer Lopez who admitted the news took her by surprise and left her deeply saddened.
“Twitch was such a light and a beautiful soul. Shocked and deeply saddened. My heart breaks for Twitch, his wife, and children. Sending you love and strength,” she said in her tribute.
Our thoughts are with Stephen’s wife, children, relatives, and friends during this challenging time.
