John Travolta was seen struggling on stage last night at the Oscars.
The star found it hard to muster the courage and speak about his late friend and fellow co-star from the movie Grease. Moreover, he had trouble finishing his sentence as he choked on his own words with tears rolling down his face.
Travolta wiped away tears and took a moment to recollect his thoughts as he introduced the ‘In Memorium’ segment at the Oscars this year.
The 69-year-old was seen giving a subtle nod to his dear late friend Olivia through the actress’s famous ballad hit from 1978 which happened to be sung by her character in the film.
It was just so hard to watch the star speak as he literally choked on his own words and began to well up. After that, he finally mustered up the strength to welcome Lenny Kravitz.
But this was definitely not an easy task for him, as the struggle was evident on his face and across his body. Travolta requested the audience members to remember all of his peers that are no longer in this world.
“They’ve touched our hearts, made us smile, and continued to entertain us for so many years. They’ve all held a very special place in our lives and they can never be forgotten!”- he further revealed.
This was all mentioned by the father of three who had a quavering voice.
Fans were quick to rush to the actor’s side on Twitter and offered their love and support to him. They felt his vulnerability and sent out good wishes as many declared him to be one of the most extraordinary friends who pushed through immense grief so he could present this segment.
