More than 50% of people in the United Kingdom would want trans women banned from women-only sports, confirmed a new report.
A new report is causing a still in the United Kingdom after it reportedly asked citizens to be honest and express how they felt about trans athletes competing in sports that were solely reserved for women. And that’s when the results showed that approximately 57% of the people felt that no, they should never be allowed to compete.
The majority of those surveyed felt that it was just not fair, until and unless they went about transitioning into a female. Others spoke about how disadvantageous it was to have something like that because of the obvious difference in physical attributes that such athletes would have.
But many wondered that if such athletes were kicked out in general from women’s sports, they would be left with nowhere else to go in the world of sports and championships. But some disagreed, adding how these people needed to have their own source of competition where only trans people could compete.
“Women are being overlooked. Their talent and potential are going to waste. Young girls are quitting the sport, even before they begin training for it because they know a day or time will come when they’ll just never be able to beat these athletes. It’s just not fair”- mentioned one other person.
“The idea of having a separate of a mixed category is the best solution to such issues. It’s the only way out”- stated another and so many others began to agree with his point of view.
The sudden social media debate comes after a famous trans cyclist rejected all claims that she had an unfair advantage because she was trans, calling it a matter of nothing but discrimination against her.
