A train en route from Illinois to Pennsylvania derailed on Friday, setting off a massive fire.
According to reports from local media outlets, the train was carrying 150 cars packed with deadly and explosive chemicals that resulted in the tragic incident.
While it was just chemicals aboard the train, authorities feared a catastrophic explosion may soon ensure and put the lives of hundreds living in the vicinity in danger.
For this reason, the authorities are ordering the evacuation of thousands of individuals who happen to be residing in the northeastern part of the state.
Meanwhile, during the later hours of Sunday, the governor of Ohio was seen mentioned in a statement on Twitter how the whole situation was very fluid and extremely dangerous.
There were not only toxic chemicals involved but some very dangerous shrapnel too. And that just set the stage for a moment that could put thousands of lives in danger for those situated near where the accident arose.
Similarly, the authorities have gone on to speak about how a drastic change in temperatures has taken place in the rail car and that could result in more misery for innocent residents in the vicinity.
Therefore, they are now doing everything in their power to avoid such a deadly circumstance by staying vigilant and carrying out an evacuation.
The Ohio National Guard has also been deployed on to the scene to help local authorities deal with the threat and ongoing situation as per instructions by the state’s governor.
“We are doing everything possible to curb a deadly attack because the health and safety of our residents is what matters most”- he went on to mention.
