Abortions are never easy on any woman but this is another heartbreaking tale of a female who had to travel 300 miles to terminate her pregnancy.
The news comes as Northern Ireland remains the only nation in the United Kingdom where abortion is still illegal. For this reason, those wishing to terminate a pregnancy are forced to travel long and hard distances for this reason.
A 12-week pregnant woman by the name of Holly is going viral online after it was revealed that she had taken the decision to terminate her pregnancy. But this was not an easy call, considering the great mental and physical trauma that came with such decisions.
And if that was not daunting enough, traveling hundreds of miles to achieve this decision was definitely not her cup of tea.
The Belfast community united in support of the pregnant mother as they felt this was just wrong for abortions to be illegal for all and get them, people were traveling hundreds of miles.
In this case, the pregnancy getting terminated had to do with the fact that doctors advised it was the best decision as the unborn child was suffering from a major disorder.
The child was outlined to be suffering from anencephaly which is a small size of the skull due to stunted growth. It’s a fatal condition that ultimately results in the death of the child.
Speaking to Mirror Online recently, the mother explained how the news hit her and her partner like a sledgehammer. “This was nothing something that any expecting couple would ever wish to hear”- she added.
The whole traveling a long distance experience to the likes of justifying the actions linked to the abortion was documented and the entire community rallied in support of her.point 447 |
