At least three people, including a child, were shot after a man opened fire outside of an apartment window in Washington DC on Friday.
According to reports, the man, woman, and child were left with non-life-threatening injuries after the incident at Van Ness and Connecticut Avenue.
Residents reported seeing the gunman in a black t-shirt. He immediately fled the scene and is still being sought by authorities.
A video shared online seems to show that a camera was attached to the gunman’s rifle. Officers said they were aware of the video but could not verify its contents yet.
Around 4:30 pm, police were seen handcuffing a man wearing a black t-shirt. It was not clear if he was the gunman.
Police confirmed at around 5:30 pm that no suspect or suspects were in custody.

Speaking to WUSA9, a Howard Law School student said she was on her lunch break when she heard multiple gunshots.
“It was an entire standstill, everybody stopped their cars,” she shared. “We were bumper to bumper. We didn’t know what to do…Then we heard another round go off, at least 20 shots. We started to go down Van Ness and all the cars stopped again, and we heard another round go off.
“We didn’t know how close the bullets were so we just stopped right there.”
Stuart Emerman, Metropolitan Police’s Assistant Chief of Technical and Analytical Services Bureau, said police detained people running from the scene but he didn’t believe any suspects were in custody.
He also said that the man, woman, and child have been rushed to hospital where they were in ‘stable condition.’
