Children’s author Thomas Leeds may have survived a devastating car crash but he is now dealing with the awful consequences that have arisen due to just that.
Leeds was left suffering from face blindness which is so rare that people find it so hard to comprehend what actually went wrong. Moreover, his loving wife says he may act or appear normal but only she knows deep down inside what her partner is suffering from.
The author was reportedly only 19 years old when he was involved in the most devastating car crash. His injuries directly affected his brain and before he knew it, he could not remember who he was.
The memory keeps coming and going therefore his wife claims that she cannot greet him just with a good morning.
Questions like who am I and what is my name are the sort of commonly asked queries that really make his wife understand which page he might be on.
And some days are better than others while others are worse, she adds. In case he replies with the right answer, she knows that he’s feeling fine and she can leave him alone as a stay-at-home dad. But if not, she is left with no choice but to be by his side.
His wife Sophie says she made a very difficult decision when it came down to marrying him but deep down inside, she knew that he was the right one for her.
While he rests at home, she works as the head of an online publishing store in London and it’s definitely very hard for her sometimes.
Sophie says she is trying so hard to take it one day at a time. She hopes that in the future, she is able to work as well as she is now, taking care of her life which she calls as a true balancing act.
