A young girl succumbed to her injuries after crashing her supercar into a tree while speeding on Saturday morning at around 3:20 am.
16-year-old Stella Grace Bright, the daughter of top Lowe’s executive Chris Bright, was driving her Porsche 911 near her family’s home in Lake Norman, North Carolina, when she lost control of her sports car and skidded off the road.
According to the reports, the teenager plowed into a tree and a stone wall and suffered fatal injuries in the process. The other two passengers in Stella’s car also suffered injuries and required hospitalization.
It was also revealed that the accident took place just under two miles from where Stella’s parents own a $2.6 million lake house.
Following the saddening tragedy, tributes to the young girl began pouring in. Among the mourners was also Stella’s twin sister, Olivia, who said:
“I don’t know how I’m going to live another day without you u meant the world to me and still do. You didn’t deserve to go this soon you really didn’t.
“I won’t stop thinking about you and I know you want me to be happy so I’m going to try to be happy just for you.”
The girl’s best friend, Jocelyn Carroll, added: “Rest in peace to my bestest friend in the whole universe.
“I can’t even begin to describe with words how grateful I am to have met you and to be a part of your life. You are so amazing and caring ad kind and talented and you had such a beautiful soul. You always know how to put a smile on anyone’s face… you were the bestest sister I never got to have and I miss you so much. I’m so sorry I never got to say goodbye.”
Meanwhile, a press conference by the North Carolina Highway Patrol was held in the area. Though Trooper Christopher Casey refused to comment on the speed Bright reached at the time of the incident, he confirmed that speed played a role in the crash.
Our thoughts remain with Stella’s loved ones during this challenging time.
