A teenage boy and his friend got stabbed to death during an altercation outside a bar.
17-year-old Janis Kozlovskis and 21-year-old Ryan Theobald were enjoying a night out at the Number Fifteen bar in Doncaster, England, when they were attacked by a knife-wielding teenager.
According to the reports, the pair got into an argument with an unnamed 17-year-old boy after leaving the bar. During the altercation, the teenager allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed both boys to death.
“I’ve just lost my little 17-year-old brother to knife crime in my own home city of Doncaster,” Janis’ sister, Russanda, wrote on GoFundMe after her brother’s premature death.
“We’re all heartbroken. I’ve always seen things like this on the news but now it’s happened to my own family.
“My heart goes out to the other people who have lost their loved ones over knife crime. Janis went out on a Friday night in Doncaster after their night out with his friends.”
She explained: “An altercation broke out and Janis and one of his friends Ryan Theobald has sadly passed away. He was only 21. Both young lads with their whole life ahead of them.”
Speaking out after the unfortunate turn of events was also Ryan’s close friend, Alisha Samba, who dubbed the 21-year-old a “funny, loving, and kind-hearted young lad.”
“Ryan was loved by so many, he was such a funny, loving and kind hearted young lad,” she said.
“Ryan was on a night out on Friday night and ended up in an altercation which has end up with him and his friend Janis losing their lives to knife crime. This heartbreaking tragedy has left his poor mum and sister absolutely heart broken.”
According to the reports, another teenage boy was also stabbed on the night of knife violence. He, however, made it off with minor injuries.
As of this writing, the case remains under investigation and the 17-year-old suspect remains in custody.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the town center in the early hours of this morning who might have witnessed what happened,” Detective Chief Inspector Mark Oughton said.
“If you were in the area at the time, if you saw what happened or if you think you may have mobile, CCTV or dashcam footage, please call 101 quoting incident number 135 of 29 January.
