A 19-year-old has been arrested after shooting multiple people while livestreaming the bloody act on Facebook.
The gunman has been identified as Ezekiel Kelly and was taken into custody after wrecking a stolen Dodge Challenger.
The rampage reportedly started at around 4 pm when he shot two people while on a Facebook livestream.
Kelly reportedly shot a man at a BP gas station on South Parkway at 4:35 pm, and only one minute later, he shot a woman on Norris Road near I-240.
He was indicted on first-degree murder, aggravated assault, using a gun during a felony, and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon stemming from a 2020 incident.
In the video shared online, Kelly can be seen entering an AutoZone before raising his gun and firing repeatedly at a man in a grey shirt.
“This sh*t for real,” he can be heard saying while leaving.
Another clip shows Kelly driving down the road, saying: “It’s getting real wild here” then the sound of automatic gunfire rang out.
He was later cornered at the intersection of Ivan and Hodge roads in DeSoto County, Tennessee.
Police had warned residents to stay indoors while they were searching for the gunman. Public transportation was suspended, the Memphis’ Red Birds stopped their game, and The University of Memphis also went on lockdown, according to the Daily Beast.
Kelly also shared an eerie post on Facebook in mid-August, saying: “I’m sorry momma I know you hate how I live…I know you pray every night I swear wont GO witout a fight.”
This comes the same week the body of billionaire heiress Eliza Fletcher, a mother-of-two, was discovered near an apartment complex in Memphis.
Cleotha Handerson, an ex-con who served 20 years for a previous kidnapping, has been charged with aggravated kidnapping, tampering with evidence, and murder.
