Ashley Wadsworth was asked by her cousin Kali Wadsworth why she would move for a guy she had never met in real life.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Kali said: “From the beginning when she decided to go to England for a guy, I was like why are you doing that? It’s really stupid.”

“Obviously, I never thought something like this would happen. I was just like, wow, this is stupid – he has face tattoos, what are you doing?” Kali continued.

“I was like, you’re too good for him anyway; you could get someone awesome in your own city.

“But I knew she loved to travel and that’s probably half the reason she wanted to go. Then she had a place to stay and all that.”

Jack Sepple, 23, has been charged with murder after Ashley, who moved across the Atlantic to be with him, was found dead.

Grieving members of the family told the news outlet how she had begged them to buy her a ticket home due to Sepple’s abusive and possessive behavior days before she died.

Kali said she thinks the couple’s final argument was triggered when her cousin told him of her travel plans once her family get the cash to buy a plane ticket.

She also told how the victim’s sister, 21-year-old Hailey, said she witnessed Sepple beating the 19-year-old while they were on a FaceTime call.

“He had been very possessive over her belongings – her phone especially,” Kali continued. “He was going through her social media and the reason he acted out was because he had seen an old chat.

“The reason this entire fight started from the beginning was because he had seen an old chat where she flirted with somebody. He freaked out over it and Ashley was on FaceTime with Hailey and she watched him just start beating her.

“Then (Hailey) reached out and tried to get her an earlier plane ticket. He had logged into all her social medias, deleted all her posts and changed all her passwords and smashed her phone.”

Kali went on: “Ashley couldn’t call for help – she was in a whole different country, even if she could call for help, who would she call apart from the police?

“I don’t know if she did but I know a few people did.”

The victim’s family will now have to pay thousands of dollars to get her body back to British Columbia.

Kali’s grandfather, Jeff Wadsworth, said: “We’ve got to pay all this money to get her home. I thought [the British] would just zip her on over (back to Canada), sorry about that, but no – they want some money.

“I’m so devastated, I can’t even think. It’s just not fair.”
