They say mothers are some of the most brilliant creations on this planet and after seeing this next story, we couldn’t agree more.
A new mom is sharing her tearful and painful experience after she was reportedly forced to go back to work, just 12 days after she gave birth.
As you can imagine, the pain of being left with no decision but to leave your child at home, despite the fact that she was a newborn was something Rebecca Shumard says couldn’t be more painful.
But the fact that her child was premature only made matters so much more difficult for her and now she’s sharing her experience with other women who could possibly relate to how she was feeling at this moment in time.
Rebecca went viral on TikTok instantly when she put up a video that showed her breaking down in tears while seated at her workplace. She started to film herself crying as the whole situation really got too overwhelming.
“I thought I’d take these moments out to spend time with my little girl who really needed me. My situation was so tough because I have to make ends meet. But what does one do when the mom guilt begins to step in?”- the new mother questioned her audience while wiping tears across her face.
After reaching so many people around the globe, many couldn’t help but give this young woman some words of encouragement.
Many shared the mom’s sympathy, adding how that is so wrong to be called out during a period when a baby admitted to the NICU needs their mom’s support the most.
Others slammed the workplace for being so heartless while a few were shocked that this is what happens in the US.
Most people advised her to speak to the boss again and if not, at least try to make the best use of her breaks by paying her child a visit because she’d be needing her milk every few hours.
