A 23-year-old mom has reportedly passed away after taking a lethal dose of cocaine on her first night out after the birth of her son.
According to reports from local media outlets, the young woman died at her house in Bellshill in Lanarkshire in the year 2019. She was identified as Rebecca Tollan.
The suspects’ named Barry McAuley and Martin Stewart were arrested and charged with culpable homicide as they were found guilty of administering her the dangerous dose of the lethal drug that ended up taking her life.
They were alleged of giving her the drug without undermining the major consequences attached and hence there was plenty of evidence that showed that. The incident reportedly took place at the Railway Tavern Pub in Motherwell in Lanarkshire and at the house in Bellshill.
Meanwhile, the indictment mentioned how Rebecca died after ingesting the drug. But the suspects were seen denying the accusations and claiming they had nothing to do with the case but that was not true.
The first witness for the trial was outlined to be Rebecca’s sister-in-law Pamela Tollan. She claims that the two men had ordered her drinks and they were reportedly seated at a table nearby. At first, she thought she recognized them so she took on the drinks and consumed them but that was a lethal mistake.
Pamela also revealed how she and the two men were having a good laugh together but she was not away of what they were speaking about or having banter about.
“I knew that there was cocaine involved. They even went on to give me a wee bag”- she continued. Soon, Pamela had to use the restroom and her sister-in-law joined her at that moment. The reason was to get the cocaine and the duo reportedly took it before returning to the two men.
