A Russian war dog that was found abandoned on the battlefield of Ukraine has now switched sides to help the country’s injured soldiers.
3-year-old Max who is said to be a Belgian Malinois breed was recently found in a desperate state and was also believed to be starving in the country’s Mykolaiv region.
As of now, there are no confirmations as to why he was all alone and left abandoned by his trainers. But now, Ukrainian forces that have found him are taking good care of him with food and shelter and in return, the adorable pup is working to save injured Ukrainian soldiers on the battlefield.
Ukraine confirmed how the dog is also capable of sniffing mines and hence will also be used for that purpose to help gain assistance in the ongoing war.
“We do not understand why the Russians would be so brutal to leave a loving and useful dog like Max on the battlefield. He is now going to be working with us and we are glad that he is on the right side now”- an intelligence officer for Ukraine confirmed.
The dog was said to be found starving and was more than happy to see Ukrainian soldiers give him clean food and water. Therefore, after nursing him back to health, they’ve allowed him to return to duty.
Max has been stated as an intelligent dog who takes command quickly and understands easily. Therefore, he is currently receiving training and being used for his great abilities, Ukraine confirmed.
Max has also been deemed to be a really big favorite with the guards positioned over there. Soldiers enjoy playing with him and they adore his enlightening presence during these testing times of conflict.
As it is, Ukrainian soldiers love dogs and they claim Max is no exception to the family.
