A luxury hotel was reportedly swept away in minutes as brutal floods struck the city of Kalam in Pakistan.
According to local media outlets, the hotel was identified as The New Honeymoon Hotel and it had just recently been constructed. But little did the owners realize that it was destined for doom as brutal monsoon weather systems have struck the country recently.
Thousands of people have been displaced while nearly 170,000 homes have been damaged. Calls for the international community to donate generously are on the rise as the UN calls it one of the most deadly flooding situations in the country’s history.
The hotel’s main foundation can be seen in the video being washed away completely, leaving no trace of its existence.
Heavy rain has slammed the impoverished developing nation hard as the death toll has already reached 937 ever since the system struck in mid-June.
Pakistan has been left with no choice but to declare a state of emergency with the country’s prime minister asking the International Community to come forward and help.
“We are struggling and I urge you all to donate generously. We need your assistance!”- the desperate Prime Minister was seen mentioning.
While the monsoon system of rains is known to wreak havoc, nothing of this magnitude has ever taken place, sources revealed. Meanwhile, the prime minister was seen blaming the horror related to climate change for the current aftermath that has left the country’s population struggling.
The city where the hotel was recently built was known to be a famous tourist destination due to its serene and breathtaking views. Today, the area appears like a swamp as flood water has piled in on all the land present.
