A suspect who reportedly shot an off-duty New York Police Department cop during an attempted robbery has now been arrested.
According to reports from local media outlets, the incident was the perfect example of a robbery attempt gone awry. The police were on the chase to find his whereabouts and now, his arrest has finally been confirmed.
Sources revealed how the male suspect went into hiding at an upscale hotel in the vicinity and was soon dragged away using his own suspected handcuffs.
The suspect named Randy Jones reportedly shot the officer several times using his weapon. And it didn’t the off-duty officer to fall to the ground after suffering from the most critical injuries.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and treated for his wounds but the latest reports have spoken about his death.
He was identified as a loving father of two named Adeed Fayaz as unveiled by the Brooklyn District Office yesterday. The entire department was seen expressing their heartfelt tributes to the young man whose death has left the entire community stunned.
The suspect shot the cop who happened to be making an attempt of buying an SUV. He has now been charged with two counts of second-degree murder, sources have gone on to mention.
Other charges were linked to robbery, first-degree murder, and the criminal possession of weapons.
The NYPD has requested the public to withhold all of their judgments so far and allow the case to proceed via the likes of a fair trial through the country’s criminal legal system.
