Actress Nicki Aycox passed away at the age of only 47 after battling leukemia for two years, her sister-in-law Susan Raab Ceklosky confirmed on social media.
She was best known for her roles such as Jamie Allen on TNT’s Dark Blue and Meg Masters on The CW’s Supernatural.
It was in 2020 when she was diagnosed with leukemia. She first thought that she had contracted Covid after falling ‘very ill’ but was later told that she had cancer.
Nicki shared her cancer journey on her vegan lifestyle website Cashes and Olives and Instagram where she documented her struggles and gave updates on her health.
Her last post was shared on March 26, where she was seen singing from a hospital bed right after her chemotherapy.
Raab Celosky confirmed the heartbreaking news of Aycox’s death on Facebook.
Sharing photos of the actress and her husband Matt Raab, she wrote: “My beautiful, smart, fierce, incredibly talented, and loving sister-in-law, Nicki Aycox Raab, passed away yesterday with my brother, Matt Raab, by her side.”
She added: “Nicki and Matt had a wonderful life together in California. She was definitely a fighter and everyone who knew her loved her.”
American writer and TV producer Eric Kripke, who created the fantasy drama series Supernatural, paid tribute to the star with a heartfelt post on social media.
He shared a GIF of Aycox’s Meg Masters blowing a candle and wrote: “Gutted to hear the great #NickiAycox, our first #MegMasters, passed away.”
“Too young. She was a delight & delivered lines like honey & venom,” Kripke continued.
“I marvel at how she made a simple word like “lackluster” legendary,’ he concluded with hashtags #RIP #SPN and #SPNFamily.”
Nickie also appeared in L.A. Heat, Weird Science, Boy Meets World, USA High, and 3rd Rock From the Sun.
She also played Lili Gallagher in Providence and had guest-starring roles in Dark Angel, The X-Files and Ally McBeal.
