Shockwaves are being spread around the globe after the Taliban recently announced the decision to ban the TikTok app in their nation.
According to local media outlets, the leader of the organization has called the app out for promoting violence, and hence they feel the time has come for its ban.
But it’s interesting to see such comments being made as the organization’s own fighters are using the app to help promote fear and violence across the board.
Sources have pointed out hundreds of videos that feature fighters making use of social media on the battlefield, recording their every move of violence.
They are recording and publishing videos of carrying out atrocities so they could spread fear among all of their enemies out there.
So far, Afghani rules have blocked out nearly 23 million websites and the figures continue to increase with time, sources explain.
Meanwhile, the Taliban ministry of telecommunications has shed light on how the famous app and PUBG aren’t doing any good in the nation and they are going to be banned soon.
TikTok was called out for spreading immoral behavior and trends that are not in line with their religion and customs, the leaders mentioned. Therefore, they feel the very vulnerable youths are being targeted and it’s not right.
“We have to carry this decision out for the sake of our youths. That’s all we have to say”- the head continued.
He also said that it’s devasting to see so many people being brainwashed through the likes of social media and adopting those trends into their own culture. And before the wave of social media gets out of control, they feel the time has come to get rid of it.
In the same way, they called the Facebook app for doing the same so we might be seeing a ban on that soon too.
