A woman who allegedly killed her husband and his two children after she was removed from a will as she was caught sleeping with her stepson has been captured.
‘Killer stepmom’ Berenice Alanis was found hiding at a hotel in Acapulco, Mexico, after a guest who had recognized her face from wanted posters immediately alerted police, according to Telediario news.
Police said the woman hired assassins who entered a gym owned by her millionaire husband Jacobo Quesada, 51, and murdered him along with his son Jacobo Quesada Jr., 25, and daughter Patricia Quesada, 24.
Alanis was arrested days after the April 2019 murder but was released on bail. Then she fled and was spotted in the cities of Puebla, Queretaro, Guerrero, Las Vegas and Hidalgo while on the run.
It was in 2003 when Jacobo Quesada employed Alanis as part of the cleaning staff at the gym he owned before they started dating.
He left his wife Patricia Arellano and tied the knot with Alanis.
It is not clear when they started dating but Jacobo and his children made Alanis a part of the family, taking her on holidays, including a trip to New York.
Jacobo ended their relationship in 2018 after he found out that Alanis was sleeping with his son and a gym worker, cutting her out of the will and his $20 million fortune.
The day of the murder, the father and his two children were inside the gym when Alanis arrived to exercise.
She was asking a receptionist for assistance with a workout routine when the killers walked into the gym and rushed toward the office where they killed Jacobo and his children.
Alanis then took his luxury vehicles and changed the name of all titles before selling them in 2019.
