Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss was laid to rest on Wednesday, weeks after his tragic death at the age of 40.
The beloved DJ, dancer, TV personality, and actor died on December 13 after taking his own life at a hotel just miles away from his family home.
Thousands of fans and celebrities, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show host, have since paid the “kind” and “generous” entertainer a touching tribute as they shared their sympathies with his wife and children.
Now, TMZ has confirmed that tWitch was laid to rest in a private funeral service attended only by his closest family members.
It was also reported that a celebration of life for a larger audience will be held in the near future.
Insiders with knowledge of the plans for the upcoming ceremony suggested that the celebration of life will be held not only for his family but also for friends and people who Stephen considered as part of his extended family.
tWitch was best known for his several years on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where he rose from his position as a DJ to be the co-executive producer for the talk show.
Before that, Stephen made a name for himself by becoming the runner-up in the fourth season of So You Think You Can Dance.
Following the young man’s tragic death in December, Stephen’s wife, Allison, issued a heartbreaking statement in which she honored her husband’s memory and legacy.
“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him,” she told People.
“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory.”
