Sorrowful scenes took center stage in the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv recently as dead bodies were piled into a van after a Russian rocket strike.
At least five people were killed after a massive missile strike attacked Kyiv’s TV Tower, causing a huge explosion. The incident also resulted in a complete blackout of state media channels due to the after-effects of the attack.
But despite the haunting terror and violence that continues to rock the capital, Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko says its defense forces were now getting stronger than ever to tackle the Russians who he fears are advancing closer by the second.
“We will continue to fight to stop our city from being captured”- he explained.
After bombarding the TV tower in Kyiv via an overnight attack, Russians also managed to damage a Holocaust memorial too.
According to local media reports, a 40 mile long deadly Russian convoy is reportedly parked and on standby as Ukrainian officials feel they have arrived to batter the capital and take complete control via artillery fire.
Intelligence reports from the US claim that the massively haunting convoy is stalled near the city of Kyiv but it could potentially be regrouping to carry out a more deadly attack.
As of now, the fighting continues to take place on the outskirts of Kyiv and that is where a large number of Russian forces are deployed, as revealed by satellite images recently.
The mayor has also issued a warning to all Kyiv citizens to avoid going out unnecessarily, adding how everyone should quickly shift into shelters at the sound of the alarm.
“The enemy continues to gather more and more of its forces near the capital. And that is why we are preparing and will do everything in our power to defend the capital”- the mayor concluded.
