Soccer legend from Brazil, Pele has reportedly passed away at the age of 82.
According to reports from local media outlets, the soccer legend died moments ago, leaving fans and loved ones in a state of shock and grief.
Many recalled him as the greatest soccer player of all time who really put up a strong fight against colon cancer. He was recently admitted to the hospital and was being kept under observation after reports about his health deteriorating arose in the past week.
The 82-year-old soccer legend was battling colon cancer and even had a portion of the organ resected due to its spread. But he did recently send out a tweet to his well-wishers about how he was doing fine and hoped to come out stronger than ever from this cancer battle.
It was not only the Brazilian nation but the entire world who hailed him as being the best player who showed incredible skill with the ball when on the field.
Many young players looked up to him as a legend and leading name and always held him in the highest of regards.
Last year, he had a tumor removed but still had to undergo plenty of follow-up treatments to ensure there was no spread. And throughout his time, his loving wife remained by his side throughout his journey.
Pele was hailed as a soccer legend and the sport’s first ever first global icon too. In the same way, he was hailed as the only player to ever win three world cups. And now, his death is being mourned by millions around the globe.
