Horrifyingly tragic reports are coming in about a major snowstorm leaving 125,000 vehicles stranded and many dead in Pakistan.

According to local media outlets, the vehicles were stuck in a long traffic jam as an epic and unusually heavy snowstorm began.

Many of the victims included tourists and their families, amongst which were several children too.

These individuals were on their way to celebrate winter vacations in the city of Murree, which is located on the northern side of Pakistan. But little did they know about the tragic weather conditions that would befall them.

Police have gone on to claim that most of the victims had frozen to death inside their vehicles, while a number of others died due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

At least 22 people were recently declared dead in the mountain resort town of Pakistan while others are pleading to the government for help.

The army has been called in for assistance to help clear up the huge piles of snow that are halting rescue efforts. In addition to that, poor weather conditions are delaying relief and aid supplies to those families stranded who are in search of food and water for hours.

The country’s federal minister has reportedly flown down to the affected area to overlook the condition, where he mentioned that the government is doing everything possible to rescue those that are still stranded in the popular tourist destination.

Eight of the fatalities from this tragic incident included members of one family of a police officer who died alongside his wife and six children.

Authorities claim that more than 4 feet of snowfall had reportedly fallen overnight, which led to the disaster on Friday.

As the military makes attempts to clear roads, prayers are being sent out to all those still trapped and hoping for a miracle to survive.
