Six people were killed in a horrific home invasion in central California on Monday morning.
According to the reports, a 17-year-old mother, her 6-month-old baby, and an elderly woman were shot dead execution-style along with three other people after at least two armed men stormed their property in Goshen.
Two people who were in the home at the time managed to survive by hiding in unconfirmed locations in the house.
After shooting everyone in their sight, the two gunmen fled the scene and left their victims to die.
Two of the victims were found by the police outside the home. Another was found at the doorstep, while three lay dead inside the house.
While five of the victims were pronounced dead on the scene, another died shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
As the police believe early into the investigation, the home was targeted and the attack was gang- and drug-related.
“Detectives believe there are at least two suspects and this is not a random act of violence,” the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office revealed.
“It appears this family was targeted and there are gang associations involved, as well as potential drug investigations.
“A week ago, TCSO Detectives conducted a narcotics search warrant at the victims’ home.”
The police also confirmed that the incident was initially reported by the neighbors as an active shooter situation due to the number of bullets that were fired in a very short span of time.
As of this writing, the authorities have not yet named any of the victims. They have also not yet provided descriptions of the potential suspects.
