Sinead O’Connor’s cause of death has been revealed half a year after the singer’s sudden death.
The 56-year-old ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ hitmaker died without a warning in July last year. She was found “unresponsive” in her Herne Hill apartment, whereas the police didn’t treat her death as suspicious.
Now, the officials working on the autopsy confirmed that the late pop star died of natural causes.
“This is to confirm that Ms O’Connor died of natural causes. The coroner has therefore ceased their involvement in her death,” Southwark Coroners Court told MailOnline.
Sinead’s tragic passing came just 18 months after her son, 17-year-old Shane, took his own life after fleeing from the hospital.
“Been living as undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul,” the singer shared in her final social media post.
“We were one soul in two halves. He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without him.”
Previously, Sinead herself was hospitalized over her concerning tweets amid her mental health battle following the death of her son.
“Just to say, suggestions there’ll be any performances this year or next year or ever again are erroneous. There will never be anything to sing about again,” she said shortly after her son’s passing.
In an update, she apologized for sparking concerns among her fans saying: “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. I am with cops now on way to hospital. I’m sorry I upset everyone. I am lost without my kid and I hate myself. Hospital will help a while.
“I’m sorry for what I tweeted yesterday. I’m very upset. My son was the love of my life. […] I am ruined without my son.”
