Doctors have issued a new health warning against peeing in the shower.
It’s a habit that many people are guilty of, according to studies, but if you happen to urinate in the shower, it’s time you stop.
Health experts are now shedding light on why peeing in the shower can have detrimental consequences for both males and females. And this is why they sound the alarm bells from now only.
Doctors claim it can be really bad for the bladder while outlining the correct way that women should ‘sit down’ and use the toilet before it’s too late.
The news comes to us thanks to one specialist named Dr. Teresa Irwin, who recently took to her account on TikTok to share the news.
She agreed that many people think it’s convenient because you are emptying your bladder correctly while standing up. But this is harmful because it actually ends up training our minds into assuming that we need to urinate each time the sound of water is heard.
“You certainly do not want to do that all of the time because each time the sound of flowing water is heard, you want to rush to the bathroom and pee. Be it washing hands or cleaning the dishes; your mind thinks wrong that it’s time to pee, and that just adds misery for the person,”- she continued.
And when you don’t, those who don’t have a strong enough pelvic floor for support end up leaking, which can have other consequences, she continued.
One woman was quick to comment on the video, stating that this isn’t just a myth, but she’s experienced it happen to her. And that’s why her mom always advised against it. But she never listened; now, she has to pee, even when her car is getting washed.
