Newly obtained evidence suggests school shooter Ethan Crumbley planned the mass shooting and wanted to kill as many people as possible.
15-year-old Michigan gunman Ethan Crumbley is facing life in prison after being charged with four counts of murder and one count of terrorism following the mass shooting at Oxford High School.
As new evidence confirms, the teenager, who killed four students and injured seven people on Tuesday after opening fire at his high school, “methodically and deliberately” shot at his peers after planning the horrific attack.
The police have since the tragic shooting recovered the boy’s journal in which he was planning the “absolutely cold-hearted” and “premeditated” attack, as the authorities put it.
Furthermore, the detectives obtained a cell phone video in which Crumbley is allegedly seen deliberating the attack just one day before the shooting.
As prosecutor Karen McDonald insisted, the evidence suggests that the teen wanted to hurt “as many students as he could.”
Meanwhile, Assistant Prosecutor Marc Keast opened up about the “horrific” CCTV footage in which the defendant is seen aiming his gun at other students and shooting them at close range.
“What’s depicted on that video, honestly, judge, I don’t have the words to describe how horrific that was,” Keast told the court.
Recalling the moment Crumbley was seen walking out of a bathroom with his dad’s gun in his hand, he added:
“At that point, he deliberately aimed the gun at students and began firing at students. After students started running he continued down the hallway pointing the gun and firing and firing in classrooms and at students who were unable to escape.
“He methodically and deliberately walked down a hallway, aiming the firearm at students and firing.
“After children started running away from the defendant, he continued down the hallway again at a deliberate and methodical pace, pointing and aiming inside classrooms and at students who hadn’t had the opportunity to escape.”
Confirming these allegations was also Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard who said Crumbley emerged from the bathroom with a gun in his hand “with the intent to kill people.”
“It’s clear that he came out with the intent to kill people. He was shooting people at close range, oftentimes towards the head or chest,” he said.
Crumbley is facing life in prison after being charged with terrorism and murder as an adult.
